For we know that if the earthly tent of our dwelling is torn down, God has prepared for us a dwelling in heaven, an eternal dwelling, not made by human hands.

For while we are in this tent, we groan, because we long to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling over our present dwelling,

since in this way we are clothed and not found naked.

For while we still live in this tent, we groan under the burden of pressure, because we want to put on that new clothing without taking off the old, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

But it is God who has prepared us for this very thing and who has given the Spirit to us as a guarantee of all that has been prepared for us.

Therefore our hearts are always steadfast, even though we know that while we dwell in this body, we are still far from the Lord,
