“When you have come into the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you have taken possession of it and live in it,

then you shall take some of the first of all the fruit of the ground, which you have gathered from your land that the LORD your God is giving you, and you shall put it in a basket, and go to the place that the LORD your God will choose to make his name dwell there.

And you shall go to the priest who is in office at that time, and say to him, ‘I declare today to the LORD your God that I have come into the land that the LORD swore to our fathers to give us.’

Then the priest shall take the basket from your hand and set it down before the altar of the LORD your God.

And you shall declare before the LORD your God, saying: ‘My father was a wandering Aramean. He went down to Egypt with only a few people and lived there as a foreigner, but there he became a nation, great, mighty, and numerous.

And the Egyptians mistreated us and oppressed us and made us do hard labor,
7
then we cried out to the LORD, the God of our fathers, and the LORD heard our voice and saw our affliction and our hardship and our oppression.
8
And the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror, and with signs and wonders.
9
He brought us to this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.
10
Therefore I now bring the first of the fruit of the ground that You have given me, O LORD.’
Then you shall set it before the LORD your God; and you shall bow down before the LORD your God,
11
and you, the Levite, and the foreigner who is among you shall rejoice in all the good that the LORD your God has given to you and to your household.”

“When in the third year, the year of tithing, you have finished setting aside all the tithe of your produce, then you shall give it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, so that they may eat within your gates and be filled.
13
And you shall say before the LORD your God: ‘I have removed the holy portion from my house, and I have also given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, exactly as You commanded me. I have not gone beyond or forgotten any of Your commandments.'”

When I was in mourning, I did not eat any of it while it was holy; when I was unclean, I did not set any of it apart; nor did I offer any of it for the dead. But I listened to the voice of the LORD my God; I did according to all that You commanded me.

Look down from Your holy dwelling, from heaven, and bless Your people Israel and the land that You have given us, as You swore to our fathers—a land flowing with milk and honey.”

“Today the LORD your God commands you to do these statutes and ordinances; therefore keep them faithfully with all your heart and with all your soul.
17
You have declared today that the LORD is your God, and that you will walk in His ways and keep His statutes, His commandments, and His ordinances, and listen to His voice.
18
And the LORD has declared today that you are His treasured people, as He promised you, and that you are to keep all His commandments,
19
and that He will set you high above all the nations He has made, for praise, for fame, and for honor. And you shall be a holy people to the LORD your God, as He has promised.”
