Many people think that the Christian life is serious, full of prohibitions, and far from the word “happy.” But if we read the Bible honestly and openly, we will find one surprising thing: the Bible talks a lot about happiness, not the world’s version, but the true and eternal version.
Happiness that does not depend on circumstances
Psalm 1:1-2 begins with the words “Blessed is the man…” (another version: happy), which in Hebrew is called esher, meaning joyful, delighted, satisfied. The person who is “blessed” according to the Psalm is not because his life is without problems, but because he lives close to God: does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, and meditates on God’s word day and night.

Happiness that withstands storms
Paul, even when imprisoned, could say, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4). Happiness in the Lord does not mean never being sad, but it means there is divine joy that remains burning even when life is difficult.
