Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits high.

He overlaid it with pure gold, inside and outside, and made a gold molding around it.

He cast four gold rings for it, on its four corners, that is, two rings on one side of it and two rings on the other side of it.

He made poles of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold.

And he put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, to carry the ark.

And a bud was under the first pair of branches that came out of it, and a bud under the second pair, and a bud under the third pair; so were the six branches that came out of it made.

He made on the lampstand seven lamps, with its tongs and its trays, of pure gold.

This chapter records how Bezalel and the craftsmen built the main furnishings for the Tabernacle, according to the Lord’s command. Each furnishing was not only functional, but also carried deep spiritual meaning.
1. The Ark of the Covenant (verses 1–9)
- Made by Bezalel from acacia wood, overlaid with pure gold.
- Its size: 2.5 cubits (about 112.5 cm) long, 1.5 cubits wide and high.
- It had two cherubim of gold on the mercy seat (the cover of the ark).
- This was the most holy place, where the Lord would speak to Moses.
2. The Table of the Bread of the Presence (verses 10–16)
- Also made of acacia wood overlaid with gold.
- Supplied with utensils of pure gold: plates, bowls, and pitchers.
- This table was used to set out the 12 loaves of bread, a symbol of the Lord’s presence, who feeds His people.
3. The Golden Lampstand (Menorah) (verses 17–24)
- Made from one talent of pure gold (±34 kg).
- It had seven branches, adorned with blossoms, petals, and buds.
- It provided light in the Holy Tent, a symbol of the Lord as light and the Holy Spirit who burns continually.
4. The Altar of Incense (verses 25–28)
- Made of acacia wood, overlaid with gold.
- Placed before the curtain of the Most Holy Place, where fragrant incense was offered every morning and evening.
5. Anointing Oil & Holy Incense (verse 29)
- Bezalel also made holy anointing oil and fragrant incense, like the blend of a perfumer.
- These were used to consecrate the priests and the furnishings of the Holy Tent.
