The word of the LORD came to me:

“And you, son of man, will you judge, yes, will you judge the city of bloodshed? Make known to her all her abominations,
3
and say: Thus says the Lord GOD: O city that sheds blood in your midst, so that your time comes, and that makes idols for yourself to defile yourself.
4
By the blood you have shed you have become guilty, and by the idols you have made you have become defiled; thus you have brought your days near and have caused the end of your years to come. Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations and a mockery to all lands.
5
Those near to you and those far from you will mock you, you whose uncleanness is notorious and who are full of turmoil.

See, each prince of Israel in your midst has used his power to shed blood.
7
In you father and mother are treated with contempt, and in your midst the foreigner is oppressed; in you the orphan and the widow are mistreated.
8
You have despised My holy things and profaned My Sabbaths.
9
In you are slanderers who go about with intent to shed blood, and people eat meat offered on the mountains; lewdness is committed in your midst.
10
In you men uncover their fathers’ wives’ nakedness and violate women during their impurity, which defiles them.
11
One commits an abomination with his neighbor’s wife, another defiles his daughter-in-law by lewdness, and another violates his sister, his father’s own daughter.
12
In you they take bribes to shed blood; you take interest and usury and extort gain from your neighbors, but Me you have forgotten, declares the Lord GOD.
13
See, I strike My hands at your dishonest gain that you have made and at the blood that has been shed in your midst.
14
Will your heart remain steadfast, or your hands strong, in the days when I deal with you? I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will do it.
15
I will scatter you among the nations and disperse you through the lands, and I will consume your uncleanness from you.
16
And you shall be profaned in the sight of the nations by your own guilt, and you shall know that I am the LORD.”
17
Then the word of the LORD came to me:
18
“Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to Me; all of them are like bronze, tin, iron, and lead in the furnace; they are like dross of silver.
19
Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have all become dross, behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
20
As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into a furnace and blow the fire beneath it to melt it, so will I gather you in My wrath and in My anger, and put you in it and melt you.
21
I will gather you and blow upon you with the fire of My wrath, and you shall be melted in it.
22
As silver is melted in a furnace, so you shall be melted in it. And you shall know that I, the LORD, have poured out My anger upon you.”

Then the word of the LORD came to me:
24
“Son of man, say to her: You are a land that is not cleansed by rain, nor given water in the day of indignation,
25
whose princes in her midst are like roaring lions, tearing their prey; they devour people, seize treasure and precious things, and multiply widows in her midst.
26
Her priests have done violence to My law and have profaned My holy things; they have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they taught the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths. So I am profaned among them.
27
Her officials in her midst are like wolves tearing their prey, shedding blood and destroying lives to gain dishonest profit.
28
And her prophets have smeared them with whitewash, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD!’—when the LORD has not spoken.
29
The people of the land have practiced extortion and robbery; they have oppressed the poor and needy and have wronged the foreigner without justice.
30
I sought for a man among them who would build up the wall or stand in the breach before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.
31
So I have poured out My indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; their own way I have brought upon their heads, declares the Lord GOD.”
🔥⚖️💔 Summary of Ezekiel 22 – The Sinful City Will Melt in the Lord’s Wrath
Ezekiel 22 is God’s open accusation against Jerusalem, a city that has become full of bloodshed, injustice, violence, and idolatry. God exposes the sins of every level of society: the leaders, priests, prophets, and people; all have become corrupt. As a result, God declares that He will pour out His wrath like the fire of a smelter—destroying and purifying.
📌 1. Jerusalem Stripped Bare of Its Sins (verses 1–16)
