When Moses had finished setting up the Tabernacle, he anointed it and consecrated it, together with all its furnishings, and the altar with all its utensils; and after he had anointed and consecrated them all,

the leaders of Israel, the heads of their tribes, brought an offering. These were the tribal leaders responsible for the census.

As their offering they brought before the LORD six covered carts and twelve oxen: one cart for every two leaders and one ox for each leader. They brought them before the Tabernacle.

Then the LORD spoke to Moses:

“Receive these from them, that they may be used for the work of the Tent of Meeting; give them to the Levites according to the needs of their service.”

So Moses received the carts and the oxen and gave them to the Levites;

he gave two carts and four oxen to the sons of Gershon, according to the needs of their service,

and he gave four carts and eight oxen to the sons of Merari, according to the needs of their service, under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.

But to the sons of Kohath he gave nothing, because their duty was to care for the holy things, which had to be carried on their shoulders.

The leaders also brought offerings for the dedication of the altar, on the day it was anointed; the leaders brought their offerings before the altar.

The LORD said to Moses: “One leader each day shall bring his offering for the dedication of the altar.”

The one who brought his offering on the first day was Nahshon son of Amminadab, from the tribe of Judah.

His offering was one silver platter weighing one hundred and thirty shekels, and one silver basin weighing seventy shekels, measured by the holy shekel, both filled with fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering;

one gold dish weighing ten shekels, filled with incense;
15
one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old, for a burnt offering;

one male goat, for a sin offering;

and for the fellowship offering two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Nahshon son of Amminadab.

On the second day Nethanel son of Zuar, leader of the tribe of Issachar, brought his offering.

As his offering he brought one silver platter weighing one hundred and thirty shekels, and one silver basin weighing seventy shekels, measured by the holy shekel, both filled with fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering;

All the animals for the peace offerings were twenty-four bulls, sixty rams, sixty male goats, sixty lambs a year old. This was the dedication offering for the altar, after it had been anointed.

When Moses went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with Him, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was upon the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim; and He spoke to him in this way.
🎁🐂🛐 Summary of Numbers 7 – The Tribal Leaders’ Offerings for the Holy Tent
Numbers 7 is the longest chapter in the Book of Numbers.
This chapter records the voluntary offerings of the leaders of the twelve tribes of Israel after the Holy Tent had been completed and anointed.
Each tribal leader brought the same offering, but presented separately by day, over 12 consecutive days.

Over 12 days, each tribal leader brought an identical offering to the Lord.

- 1 silver bowl (70 shekels) filled with flour
- 1 gold cup (10 shekels) filled with incense
- 1 bull, 1 ram, 1 lamb (burnt offering)
- 1 male goat (sin offering)

📝 All the offerings were of equal value, yet they were still recorded one by one → showing that each personal offering is precious in the Lord’s sight.

“When Moses entered the Tent of Meeting… he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat…”
The Lord spoke from between the two cherubim above the ark—showing that Moses’ personal fellowship with the Lord remained intact.
🎯 The presence of the Lord does not shine only in offerings, but also in personal and intimate communication with Moses.
