Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God is that they may be saved.

For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but not according to true understanding.

For, being ignorant of God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

For Christ is the fulfillment of the law, so that righteousness is obtained by everyone who believes.

For Moses writes about the righteousness that comes by the law: “The one who does these things will live by them.”

But the righteousness that comes by faith says this: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” that is, to bring Christ down,

“The word is near you,
that is, in your mouth and in your heart.”

For there is no difference between Jew and Greek. For the same God is Lord of all, rich to all who call on Him.

But how can they call on Him if they do not believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have not heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him if no one proclaims Him?

And how can they proclaim Him unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

But not all have accepted the good news. Isaiah himself says: “Lord, who has believed our message?”

So then, faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

But I ask: Have they not heard? Indeed, they have heard:

“Their voice has gone out to all the earth,
