Have you ever wondered, with continuous evaporation, why the seawater never runs out? Even though every day water evaporates into the sky, forming clouds, then falls as rain onto the land. Yet the sea remains full, still waves, still roars. This is not just an ordinary natural phenomenon, but contains great lessons for our lives both scientifically and spiritually.
It turns out, behind that vast sea, there is a very precise system, created by the Designer of the universe. Even the Bible has long depicted God’s greatness through the seawater. Let’s explore together: what is the secret of the seawater that never runs out, and what is its connection to our faith?
The Amazing Water Cycle System
In the world of science, the sea is the largest part of the hydrological cycle, a closed system that continuously rotates: seawater evaporates by the heat of the sun, rises to become clouds, then falls as rain, snow, or ice. This rainwater partly returns to the sea through rivers, and some is absorbed by the soil then flows through underground layers back to the ocean. So it is no wonder, the sea seems to “fill itself.”
This system is very stable. Even humans with all their technology have not been able to create an artificial water cycle that is balanced like this globally. In one year, the oceans evaporate about 90% of all the water vapor in the atmosphere, yet also receive back almost the same amount. God designed it not carelessly.
God’s Word Has Already Mentioned This Miracle
Did you know that the Bible has mentioned this water system thousands of years ago?
Ecclesiastes 1:7 says, “All the rivers flow into the sea, yet the sea is not full; to the place where the rivers flow, there they flow again.” This is not only poetic, but scientifically very accurate.
Psalm 104:10-13 also describes how God sends water to the mountains and valleys, giving life to animals and plants, and watering the earth from the heights. This means, God not only created the sea, but also maintains its balance.
Spiritual Lessons from the Never-Ending Sea
- God’s Decrees Never Fail
The sea does not overflow, dry up, or become chaotic because God has set its boundaries (Jeremiah 5:22). Just as He sets boundaries on the chaos in our lives. - God’s Love is Like the Sea: Deep and Never-Ending
Micah 7:19 says, โYou will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.โ The sea symbolizes forgiveness that is deep, endless, and irrevocable. - God Controls Great Things Without Us Realizing
If even the sea is guarded in such detail, how much more our lives? God knows how to sustain both the great and the small.
So, What Can We Reflect On?
When we look at the sea, we often only see the waves. But behind those waves are complex physical laws, and beyond that, there is God’s hand maintaining its stability. Just like our lives, even though they sometimes seem chaotic on the surface, God still guards the currents so that we do not perish.
When you feel your life is “empty” or “dry,” remember that the sea can give rain and remain full. God is able to restore, give back, and fill. What we need to do is believe, surrender, and keep walking with Him.
