Likewise, you wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives,

Let your adornment not be outward, with braided hair, gold ornaments, or fine clothing,

but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

For this is how the holy women of old adorned themselves, those who hoped in God; they were subject to their husbands,

just as Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him her lord. And you are her children, if you do what is good and are not afraid of any terror.
