A Calling Is Not Just a Task, but a Relationship ✨
When God calls, it is not merely a “work assignment” but an invitation to work together with Him. Jesus said, “Come to Me… take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).
This means that a ministry calling is not a crushing burden, but an opportunity to walk with Christ. Refusing a calling often comes from fear, not from understanding God’s heart.
Biblical Examples of People Who Initially Refused
The Bible shows several figures who at first refused their calling:
- Moses said, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh?” (Exodus 3:11). He felt unable to speak.

- Are we tired and in need of restoration, rather than refusing the calling? Sometimes God does lead us into a season of rest.
