“At that time the LORD said to me: Cut for yourself two stone tablets like the first ones, come up to Me on the mountain, and make an ark of wood;

and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke, and then put the two tablets into the ark.

So I made an ark of acacia wood and cut two stone tablets like the first ones; then I went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hand.

And on the tablets He wrote, like the first writing, the Ten Words that the LORD had spoken to you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire on the day you were assembled; after that the LORD gave them to me.

Then I came down again from the mountain, and I put the tablets into the ark that I had made; and there they are, as the LORD commanded me.

And the Israelites journeyed from Beeroth Bene-jaakan to Moserah; there Aaron died and was buried; and Eleazar his son became priest in his place.

From there they journeyed to Gudgod, and from Gudgod to Jotbathah, a land with many streams.

At that time the LORD set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand and minister before the LORD, and to bless in His name, to this day.
9
Therefore the tribe of Levi has no portion or inheritance with their brothers; the LORD is their inheritance, as the LORD your God said to them.
10
So I stood on the mountain, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the LORD listened to me this time also: the LORD was not willing to destroy you.
11
Then the LORD said to me: Arise, go on before the people, that they may go in and possess the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.”
12
“And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, except to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
13
to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD which I command you today, for your good.
14
Behold, to the LORD your God belong heaven, even the highest heavens, and the earth with all that is in it;
15
yet only to your fathers did the LORD set His affection, and He loved them; and He chose their descendants after them, that is, you, from all peoples, as it is this day.”
16
Therefore circumcise your heart, and no longer be stiff-necked.
17
For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, mighty, and awesome God, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribe;
18
who upholds the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and shows his love to the stranger by giving him food and clothing.
19
Therefore you shall show love to the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
20
You shall fear the LORD your God; him you shall serve and to him you shall hold fast, and by his name you shall swear.
21
He is your praise, and he is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things that your own eyes have seen.
22
Your fathers went down to Egypt seventy in number, but now the LORD your God has made you as numerous as the stars of heaven.”
📖❤️🦶 Summary of Deuteronomy 10 – Fear the Lord and Love Your Neighbor
In Deuteronomy 10, Moses continues his call for the people of Israel to reflect on the grace of the Lord, who remained faithful even though they had sinned. The Lord renews His covenant by giving new tablets of stone, and Moses urges the people to respond to that love with fear of the Lord, obedient living, and love for others — including the stranger.
📌 1. The Second Tablets: The Covenant Renewed (verses 1–5)
- After the people of Israel sinned by worshiping the golden calf, the Lord told Moses:
To make two new tablets of stone.
To make an ark of wood.

He loves the ancestors of Israel and their descendants.
He shows no partiality and accepts no bribe.
He defends the fatherless, the widow, and the foreigner.
- Therefore Israel must also:
Love the foreigner.
Remember that they themselves were once foreigners in Egypt.
