As He spoke with me, the Spirit entered into me and set me on my feet. Then I heard Him speaking with me.

He said to me: “Son of man, I am sending you to the people of Israel, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against Me. They and their fathers have transgressed against Me to this very day.

To these children, stubborn and hard of heart, I am sending you, and you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord GOD.

And whether they listen or refuse—for they are a rebellious house—they will know that a prophet has been among them.

And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or of their words, though thorns and briers are all around you and you dwell among scorpions. Do not be afraid of their words, and do not be dismayed at their faces, for they are a rebellious house.

Speak My words to them, whether they listen or refuse, for they are rebellious.

And you, son of man, hear what I say to you; do not rebel like this rebellious house. Open your mouth and eat what I give you.”

Then I looked, and behold, a hand was stretched out to me, and indeed, in it was a scroll.

He spread it out before me, and it was written on the front and on the back; and written on it were lamentations, mourning, and woe.

Ezekiel 2 contains the Lord’s call to Ezekiel to become a prophet to the people of Israel, who were rebellious and stubborn. The Lord tells him to stand, listen, and speak His word, whether the people are willing to hear or not. Ezekiel is warned that his task will be difficult and full of challenges, but he must remain faithful. The Lord gives him a scroll containing messages of judgment that must be delivered to the people.
📌 1. The Lord Calls Ezekiel (verses 1–2)
“Son of man, stand up so that I may speak with you.”
➡️ The Lord addresses Ezekiel as “son of man” — a term that emphasizes his humility before God.
➡️ The Spirit of the Lord entered him and strengthened him to listen and carry out the mission.

“Do not be afraid of them… though you dwell among thorns and scorpions.”
