The word of the LORD came to me:

“Son of man, set your face against the Ammonites and prophesy against them!
3
Say to the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord GOD: Thus says the Lord GOD: Because you said, ‘Aha!’ concerning My sanctuary when it was profaned, and concerning the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and concerning the house of Judah when they went into exile,
4
therefore, behold, I am handing you over to the people of the east as a possession; they shall set their camps among you and make their dwellings in your midst; they shall eat your fruit and drink your milk.
5
I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels and the cities of the Ammonites a resting place for flocks. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

For thus says the Lord GOD: Because you clapped your hands and stamped your feet, and rejoiced in your heart over the disaster of the land of Israel,
7
therefore, behold, I will stretch out My hand against you and give you as plunder to the nations; I will cut you off from among the peoples and destroy you from the countries; I will wipe you out. Then you will know that I am the LORD.”

Thus says the Lord GOD: “Because Moab said, ‘Look, the house of Judah is like all the other nations,’
9
therefore, behold, I will lay open the highlands of Moab, exposing its cities, yes, all its cities, the glory of the land: Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim.
10
I will give it, together with the Ammonites, as a possession to the people of the east, so that the Ammonites may no longer be remembered among the nations.
11
I will execute judgments on Moab, and they will know that I am the LORD.”

Thus says the Lord GOD: “Because Edom took vengeance on the house of Judah and has greatly offended by taking revenge on them,
13
therefore thus says the Lord GOD, I will stretch out My hand against Edom and cut off from it man and beast, and I will make it a desolation; from Teman to Dedan they shall fall by the sword.
14
I will lay My vengeance on Edom by the hand of My people Israel. They shall deal with Edom according to My anger and My wrath, and they shall know that I am the One who takes vengeance, declares the Lord GOD.”
15
Thus says the Lord GOD: “Because the Philistines took vengeance and, in their rejoicing over the disaster of Israel, acted in vengeance with malice of heart, inherited from old,”
16
therefore, thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will stretch out My hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites and destroy the remnant on the seacoast.
17
I will execute great vengeance on them with furious rebukes. Then they shall know that I am the LORD, when I lay My vengeance upon them.”

Ezekiel 25 contains prophecies of judgment against four nations neighboring Israel: Ammon, Moab, Edom, and Philistia. This chapter shows that the Lord judges not only Israel, but also other nations that have sinned, especially because they rejoiced over the fall of Jerusalem and had hatred and contempt for the people of God. These four nations will experience God’s wrath, destruction, and the knowledge of the Lord.

➡️ The Philistines harbored an everlasting grudge and mocked Israel with hatred
➡️ The Lord declares that He will utterly destroy the Philistine nation
