1
The word of the LORD came to me:
2
“Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him
3
and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.
4
I will turn you about and put hooks in your jaws, and I will bring you out with all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them fully armed, a great company with large and small shields, all of them wielding swords.
5
Persia, Cush, and Put are with them, all of them with shield and helmet;
6
Gomer with all its troops, Beth-togarmah from the far north with all its troops, many peoples are with you.
7
Be ready and prepare yourself, you and all your companies that are gathered with you, and be a guard for them.
8
After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into a land restored from war, to a people gathered from many peoples upon the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They were brought out from the peoples, and they all dwell securely.
9
You will come up like a storm, you will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your troops and many peoples with you.
10
Thus says the Lord GOD: On that day thoughts will arise in your heart, and you will devise an evil plan.
11
You will say, I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will come against those who are at rest, who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, bars, or gates,
12
to seize spoil and carry off plunder, to turn your hand against the ruins now inhabited, and against the people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell at the center of the earth.
13
Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish with all its villages will say to you, Have you come to seize spoil? Have you gathered your company to carry off plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, and to seize great spoil?
14
Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog: Thus says the Lord GOD: On that day when my people Israel are dwelling securely, will you not set yourself in motion
15
and you will come from your place out of the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great assembly and a mighty army.
16
You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud covering the land. In the latter days it will happen, and I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I show My holiness in you before their eyes, O Gog.
17
Thus says the Lord GOD: Are you the one of whom I spoke in former days through My servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days for many years that I would bring you against My people?
18
And it will come to pass on that day, when Gog comes against the land of Israel, declares the Lord GOD, that My wrath will rise. In My jealousy,
19
in the fire of My anger I will speak: Surely on that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.
20
The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts of the field, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and all the people who are on the face of the earth shall tremble before My presence. The mountains shall be thrown down, the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall collapse to the ground.
21
And I will summon every kind of terror against Gog, declares the Lord GOD, so that each man’s sword will be against his brother.
22
I will judge him with plague and bloodshed; I will rain down torrential rain, hailstones, fire, and sulfur upon him and upon his troops and upon the many peoples with him.
23
I will show My greatness and My holiness, and I will make Myself known in the sight of many nations; then they will know that I am the LORD.
⚔️🌍🔥 Summary of Ezekiel 38 – Gog from the Land of Magog and the End-Time Attack
Ezekiel 38 presents a prophetic vision full of symbols and intensity about Gog, the leader from the land of Magog, who will lead a great coalition of nations to attack Israel in the future. But this attack will be directly thwarted by God, who reveals His glory and power to all nations. This is part of apocalyptic prophecy, filled with themes of end-time war, God’s sovereignty, and His victory over the enemies of His people.
📌 1. Prophecy Against Gog and His Allied Nations (verses 1–9)
➡️ The Lord commands Ezekiel to prophesy against Gog, from the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.
➡️ Gog will lead armies from many nations: Persia, Cush (Ethiopia), Put (Libya), Gomer, Togarmah, and others.

🎯 The Lord knows and permits the enemy’s plan, only to show His power.
📌 2. Gog’s Evil Plan against Israel (verses 10–16)
➡️ Gog will plan an attack because he sees Israel without fortifications, dwelling securely
➡️ But the Lord says: “I will bring you out” — meaning Gog is made an instrument in God’s greater plan
➡️ This attack will cause all nations to know that the Lord is God
🎯 God is sovereign even over enemies — nothing can oppose His plan.
📌 3. The Lord’s Wrath and Gog’s Day of Judgment (verses 17–23)
➡️ The Lord affirms that this prophecy has already been spoken by earlier prophets
➡️ The day of Gog’s attack will be the day of the Lord’s wrath: there will be a great earthquake, confusion among the troops, hailstones, torrential rain, fire, and sulfur
➡️ The purpose: to make the Lord known as Holy before all nations
🎯 The Lord will defend His people in a striking way to show His glory.
