Have you ever realized that most life in this world cannot be seen with the naked eye? Behind the air we breathe, in the water we drink, even on our own skin, there are millions of microorganisms working without our awareness. They are small, invisible, yet very important.
This is where the wonder begins: even though we cannot see the micro world, God is never out of control. He works even on the smallest and most invisible scale.
Science Speaks: A Superactive Micro World
In a single drop of river water, there can be millions of bacteria and plankton. Inside the human body itself, there are more microbial cells than body cells. The good bacteria in our intestines help digest food, shape the immune system, and even affect our mood.
Viruses, fungi, and other microbes, although often considered dangerous, also have an important role in the balance of nature. For example, decomposing bacteria in the soil help return nutrients to the earth so plants can grow.
This micro world is ordered, complex, and working in harmony, without us needing to control it. But Someone is still governing it.
The Bible: God Also Touches What Is Hidden
Jesus said in Luke 12:7:
“Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
If God knows the number of hairs on our heads, wouldn’t He also hold control over what is even smaller than that?
Colossians 1:16-17 explains that:
“…all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”
Including microbes, atoms, and particles we cannot see.
Trust in the Midst of What Is Unseen
Often we want visual proof to believe that God is working. But the micro world teaches us that many important things are precisely unseen. We do not see the process of bacteria helping digest our food, yet we trust that our bodies can digest. In the same way, we do not always see how God works, but we can trust that He is still working.
Conclusion: God Is Present on the Micro and Macro Scale
If God orders the bacteria in the soil, directs the movement of viruses, and governs our immune system, then He surely also pays attention to our lives filled with worries and questions. Nothing is too small to escape His care.
So when life feels chaotic and we feel that God is far away, remember that in the unseen world, God is still at work. He continues to govern, sustain, and preserve all things, including us.
