People often feel that life is full of time limitations. We rush to reach our goals, worry about falling behind, and often grow frustrated when prayers or plans do not happen according to the schedule we expect. Then the question arises: “Is God’s timing the same as human timing, or completely different?”
1. God Lives Outside the Limits of Time
The Bible describes God as the eternal God. Psalm 90:4 says: “For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it is past, or like a watch in the night.”

3. God’s Timing Is Always Right
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says: “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
- “In its time” shows that God has a divine calendar.
- He knows when we are ready, when something is good for us, and when it is time to answer prayer.
- For people, “late” = failure. But for God, “late” can actually be right on time to teach us patience, humility, and faith.
👉 A real example: the story of Lazarus (John 11). Jesus delayed coming until Lazarus had died. From a human perspective, that was a delay. But for God, it was an opportunity to reveal greater glory through the resurrection.
4. Why Doesn’t God Always Answer Quickly?
- God is shaping our hearts. Waiting time forms character.
- God sees the bigger picture. What we consider urgent may not fit His plan.
- God protects us. Sometimes He delays or closes a door because He knows it could harm us.
5. How Should We Respond?
- Learn patience. Realize that our timing is not the same as God’s timing.
- Trust His plan. Do not judge God as “slow,” because He is always at work (2 Peter 3:9).
- Value the time we have. Ephesians 5:16 says: “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
