O LORD, You are my God;
I will exalt You, I will sing thanks to Your name;
for with steadfast faithfulness You have carried out
Your wonderful plan, which has been from of old.

For You have made the city a heap of stones,
and the fortified city a ruin;
the palace of foreigners is no longer a city,
and it will never be rebuilt forever.

Therefore a strong people will glorify You;
the city of ruthless nations will fear You.

For You have been a refuge for the weak,
a refuge for the poor in his distress,
a shelter from the storm,
a shade from the scorching heat;
for the breath of the ruthless
is like a storm against a wall,

like scorching heat in a dry land.
You silence the uproar of foreigners;
as scorching heat is brought low by the shade of a cloud,
so the song of the ruthless is brought low.

The LORD of hosts will prepare
on this mountain for all peoples
a feast of rich food,
a feast of well-aged wine,
of rich food full of marrow,
of well-aged wine well refined.

And on this mountain the LORD will destroy
the covering that is cast over all peoples,
and the veil that is spread over all nations.

He will swallow up death forever;
and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears
from every face;
and the reproach of His people
He will take away from all the earth,
for the LORD has spoken it.

In that day it will be said:
“Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, that He might save us.
This is the LORD for whom we have waited;
let us rejoice and be glad
in His salvation!”

For the hand of the LORD will rest on this mountain,
but Moab shall be trampled down in its place,
as straw is trampled in a dung pit.

And he will spread out his hands in it
as a swimmer spreads out his hands to swim,
but the LORD will bring down his pride
together with the skill of his hands.

And the high fortified walls of your stronghold
He will bring down, lay low,
and cast to the ground, even to the dust.
