But Job answered:

“How long will you torment my soul, and crush me with words?

These ten times you have reproached me; you are not ashamed to mistreat me.
4
If indeed I have gone astray, then my error rests with me.
5
If you truly would magnify yourselves against me, and use my disgrace as proof against me,

know then that God has dealt unjustly with me, and has spread His net over me.
7
Behold, I cry out, ‘Violence!’ but there is no answer. I call for help, but there is no justice.
8
He has blocked my way with a wall, so that I cannot pass, and He has made my paths dark.
9
He has stripped me of my glory and taken the crown from my head.
10
He breaks me down on every side, and I am gone; my hope He has uprooted like a tree.
11
His anger burns against me, and He counts me as His enemy.
12
His troops advance together; they build up their way against me and encamp around my tent.
13
My brothers He has put far from me, and my acquaintances no longer know me.
14
My relatives have withdrawn, and my close friends have forgotten me.
15
The guests in my house and my female servants count me as a stranger; I am regarded by them as a foreigner.
16
If I call my servant, he does not answer; I must plead with him with gentle words.
17
My breath is offensive to my wife, and my smell is loathsome to my own brothers.
18
Even little children despise me; when I rise, they mock me.
19
All my intimate friends abhor me, and those I loved have turned against me.
20
My bones cling to my skin and to my flesh, and only my gums are left to me.
21
Have pity on me, have pity on me, O my friends, for the hand of God has struck me.
22
Why do you pursue me as though you were God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
23
Oh, that my words were written down, that they were inscribed in a book,
24
engraved with an iron stylus and lead, forever in the rock!
25
But I know: my Redeemer lives, and at last He will stand upon the dust.
26
And after my skin has been destroyed, yet without my flesh I will see God,
27
whom I myself shall see on my side; my own eyes shall behold Him, and not another. My heart faints within me with longing.
28
If you say, ‘We will pursue him and find the case against him!’
29
then be afraid of the sword, for wrath brings the punishment of the sword, so that you may know there is a judgment.”
💔🗣️🌟 Summary of Job 19 – “I Am Broken, Yet My Redeemer Lives”
Job 19 is one of the most emotional and hope-filled chapters in the whole book of Job. In the midst of suffering, the accusations of his friends, and the feeling of being abandoned by God, Job suddenly declares a radical and prophetic faith: “I know that my Redeemer lives.”
This is the peak of Job’s faith — that even though he does not understand what is happening, and even though his body is broken, there is a Redeemer who will defend and raise him up.
📌 1. Painful Friends, Not Comforting Ones (verses 1–6)
➡️ Job is angry because he is being accused again and again by his friend (as with Bildad in chapter 18)
➡️ “How long will you torment me and crush me with your words?”
➡️ Job feels he is being judged one-sidedly:
“Even if I am indeed guilty, that is between me and God, not your concern.”

“But I know: my Redeemer lives, and in the end He will stand upon the dust.”
