“You shall not make idols for yourselves, nor set up for yourselves a carved image or a sacred pillar; neither shall you place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am the LORD your God.

You shall keep My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary; I am the LORD.
3
If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments and do them,
4
then I will give you rain in its season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall bear their fruit.
5
Your threshing shall last until the grape harvest, and the grape harvest shall last until the sowing time. You shall eat your bread to the full and dwell securely in your land.
6
And I will give peace in the land, so that you shall lie down and none shall make you afraid; I will remove harmful beasts from the land, and the sword shall not pass through your land.
7
You shall pursue your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
8
Five of you shall pursue a hundred, and a hundred of you shall pursue ten thousand, and all your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
9
And I will turn toward you and make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will establish My covenant with you.
10
You shall still eat the old harvest of the previous year, and you shall clear out the old to make room for the new.
11
I will set My dwelling place among you, and My soul shall not abhor you.
12
I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be My people.
13
I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should no longer be their slaves. I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk upright.”
14
“But if you will not listen to Me, and will not do all these commandments,
15
if you reject My statutes and your soul abhors My rules, so that you will not do all My commandments and break My covenant,
16
then I will do this to you: I will bring terror upon you, wasting disease and fever that consume the eyes and make the heart waste away; you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it up.
17
I Myself will set My face against you, and you shall be struck down before your enemies; those who hate you shall rule over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you.
18
And if, even then, you do not listen to Me, then I will punish you yet more severely, seven times for your sins,
19
and I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your sky like iron and your land like bronze.
20
Your strength shall be spent in vain, for your land shall not yield its produce, and the trees of the land shall not bear their fruit.
21
And if you continue to walk contrary to Me and will not listen to Me, then I will bring upon you still greater plagues, seven times according to your sins.
22
I will send wild beasts among you, and they shall rob you of your children and destroy your livestock, and make you few in number, so that your roads shall be desolate.
23
And if, even then, you will not be corrected by Me, but continue to walk contrary to Me,
24
then I also will walk contrary to you, and I Myself will strike you seven times for your sins,
25
and I will bring a sword upon you, to execute the vengeance of the covenant; and when you gather yourselves in your cities, I will send pestilence among you, and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.
26
When I break your supply of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven. They shall return your bread by weight, and you shall eat, but not be satisfied.
27
And if, even then, you do not listen to Me, but continue to walk contrary to Me,
28
then I also will walk in fury against you, and I Myself will punish you seven times for your sins,
29
and you shall eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters.
30
And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars. I will cast your dead bodies upon the dead bodies of your idols, and My soul shall abhor you.
31
I will lay your cities waste and bring your sanctuaries to ruin, and I will not smell the pleasing aroma of your offerings any more.
32
I Myself will make the land desolate, so that your enemies who dwell in it shall be astonished at it.
33
But I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you; and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities a ruin.
34
Then the land shall enjoy its sabbaths, as long as it lies desolate and you are in the land of your enemies; then the land shall rest and enjoy its sabbaths that it did not receive.
35
During its desolation the land shall enjoy the sabbaths it did not observe in your sabbaths, while you were still dwelling in it.
36
And as for those of you who remain alive, I will bring faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies, so that the sound of a windblown leaf shall pursue them, and they shall flee as one flees from the sword, and they shall fall, though no one is pursuing.
37
And they shall stumble over one another as though to escape from the sword, though no pursuer exists; and you shall not be able to stand before your enemies.
38
And you shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall consume you.
39
And those of you who remain alive shall waste away in their punishment in the lands of their enemies, and also because of the guilt of their fathers they shall waste away like their fathers.
40
But if they confess their guilt and the guilt of their fathers in the treachery they committed against Me, and also confess that their life was contrary to Me
41
— then I also will act against them and bring them into the land of their enemies — or if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled and they make amends for their guilt,
42
then I will remember My covenant with Jacob; I will also remember My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land as well.
43
So the land shall be abandoned by them and shall make up for its sabbath years that were neglected while the land lay desolate because of their abandonment of it; and they shall make amends for their guilt, because they rejected My ordinances and their heart loathed My statutes.
44
Yet even so, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor will I loathe them so as to destroy them and break My covenant with them, for I am the LORD their God.
45
For their sake I will remember the covenant with their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God; I am the LORD.”
