Behold, I send My messenger, and he will prepare the way before Me! And suddenly the Lord whom you seek will come to His temple! The Messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, behold, He is coming, says the LORD of hosts.

Who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap.

He will sit as one who refines and purifies silver; and He will purify the Levites, cleansing them like gold and like silver, so that they may present offerings in righteousness to the LORD.

Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the LORD, as in the days of old and as in former years.

I will draw near to you for judgment, and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, the adulterers, and those who swear falsely, and against those who oppress the hired worker, the widow, and the fatherless, and who thrust aside the foreigner, and do not fear Me, says the LORD of hosts.

For I, the LORD, do not change; therefore you, sons of Jacob, are not consumed.

From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My statutes and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts. But you say, “In what way shall we return?”

Will a man rob God? Yet you rob Me. But you say, “In what way do we rob You?” In tithes and offerings!

You are cursed with a curse, yet you keep robbing Me, you, the whole nation!

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this, says the LORD of hosts, whether I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out blessing upon you until there is more than enough.

I will rebuke the devourer for your sake, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, and so that the vine in the field will not fail to bear fruit for you, says the LORD of hosts.

Then all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight, says the LORD of hosts.

Your words have been harsh against Me, says the LORD. But you say, “What have we spoken among ourselves against You?”

You have said, “It is useless to serve God. What profit is it that we have kept His charge and walked in mourning before the LORD of hosts?”
15
Therefore now we call the arrogant blessed: not only do those who do evil prosper, but even when they test God, they escape.”
16
Then those who feared the LORD spoke with one another: “The LORD paid attention and heard them; a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who feared the LORD and for those who honored His name.”

“They shall be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “in the day that I prepare. I will have compassion on them, as a man has compassion on his son who serves him.

Then you shall again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.
