Psalms 119 – Blessed Are Those Who Walk According to the Lord’s Law

1
Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD.

2
Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with all their heart,

3
who also do no wrong, but walk in His ways.

4
You Yourself have commanded Your precepts, that they should be kept diligently.

5
Oh that my ways were steadfast in keeping Your statutes!

6
Then I would not be put to shame, when I look upon all Your commandments.

7
I will give thanks to You with an upright heart, when I learn Your righteous judgments.

8
I will keep Your statutes; do not utterly forsake me.

9
How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to Your word.

10
With all my heart I seek You; do not let me stray from Your commandments.

11
I have stored up Your promise in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

12
Blessed are You, O LORD; teach me Your statutes.

13
With my lips I declare all the judgments that You have spoken.

14
I rejoice in the way of Your testimonies, as in all riches.

15
I will meditate on Your precepts and consider Your ways.

16
I will delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

17
Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live, and I will keep Your word.

18
Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things from Your law.

19
I am a stranger on the earth; do not hide Your commandments from me.

20
My soul is crushed with longing for Your judgments at all times.

21
You rebuke the arrogant; cursed is the one who turns away from Your commandments.

22
Remove from me scorn and contempt, for I keep Your testimonies.

23
Even though princes sit and speak against me, Your servant meditates on Your statutes.

24
Yes, Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors.

25
My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to Your word.

26
I have told of my ways, and You answered me; teach me Your statutes.

27
Make me understand the way of Your precepts, that I may meditate on Your wondrous works.

28
My soul weeps with sorrow; strengthen me according to Your word.

29
Keep me from the way of falsehood, and graciously grant me Your law.

30
I have chosen the way of righteousness; I have set Your laws before me.

31
I have clung to Your testimonies, O LORD; let me not be put to shame.

32
I will follow the path of Your commandments, for You enlarge my heart.

33
Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, and I will keep it to the end.

34
Give me understanding, and I will keep Your law; I will observe it with all my heart.

35
Lead me in the path of Your commandments, for I delight in them.

36
Incline my heart to Your testimonies, and not to gain.

37
Turn my eyes away from looking at what is worthless; give me life in Your ways!

38
Confirm to Your servant Your promise, which is for those who fear You.

39
Turn away the disgrace that terrifies me, for Your laws are good.

40
Behold, I long for Your precepts; give me life in Your righteousness!

41
May Your steadfast love come to me, O LORD, Your salvation according to Your promise,

42
that I may answer him who taunts me, for I trust in Your word.

43
Do not utterly take the word of truth from my mouth, for I hope in Your laws.

44
I will keep Your law continually, forever and ever.

45
I will walk in freedom, for I seek Your precepts.

46
I will speak of Your testimonies before kings and shall not be put to shame.

47
I will delight in Your commandments, which I love.

48
I lift up my hands to Your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on Your statutes.

49
Remember the word You spoke to Your servant, for You have given me hope.

50
This is my comfort in my affliction, that Your promise gives me life.

51
The arrogant utterly mock me, but I do not turn aside from Your law.

52
I remember Your laws from of old, O LORD, and I am comforted.

53
Indignation seizes me because of the wicked, who forsake Your law.

54
Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.

55
In the night I remember Your name, O LORD, and I will keep Your law.

56
This has become mine, that I keep Your precepts.

57
The LORD is my portion; I have promised to keep Your words.

58
I seek Your favor with all my heart; be gracious to me according to Your promise.

59
I have considered my ways, and I have turned my feet toward Your testimonies.

60
I hastened and did not delay to keep Your commandments.

61
The cords of the wicked have bound me, but I have not forgotten Your law.

62
At midnight I rise to give thanks to You for Your righteous judgments.

63
I am a companion of all who fear You, and of those who keep Your precepts.

64
The earth is full of Your steadfast love, O LORD; teach me Your statutes.

65
You have dealt well with Your servant, O LORD, according to Your word.

66
Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in Your commandments.

67
Before I was afflicted, I went astray, but now I keep Your promise.

68
You are good and do good; teach me Your statutes.

69
The insolent have smeared me with lies, but with all my heart I will keep Your precepts.

70
Their heart is thick like fat, but I delight in Your law.

71
It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn Your statutes.

72
The law that comes from Your mouth is good for me, more than thousands of pieces of gold and silver.

73
Your hands have made me and fashioned me; give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.

74
Those who fear You see me and rejoice, because I have hoped in Your word.

75
I know, O LORD, that Your judgments are righteous, and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.

76
Let Your steadfast love be my comfort, according to the promise You made to Your servant.

77
Let Your mercy come to me, that I may live, for Your law is my delight.

78
Let the insolent be put to shame, because they have dealt perversely with me without cause; but I will meditate on Your precepts.

79
Let those who fear You turn to me, those who know Your testimonies.

80
May my heart be blameless in Your statutes, that I may not be put to shame.

81
My soul longs for Your salvation; I hope in Your word.

82
My eyes long for Your promise; I say, “When will You comfort me?”

83
For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke, yet I have not forgotten Your statutes.

84
How many are the days of Your servant? When will You judge those who pursue me?

85
The insolent have dug pits for me, those who do not follow Your law.

86
All Your commandments are trustworthy; they persecute me without cause—help me!

87
They had almost wiped me from the earth, but I did not forsake Your statutes.

88
Give me life according to Your steadfast love, that I may keep the testimony You have given.

89
Forever, O LORD, Your word stands firm in heaven.

90
Your faithfulness is from generation to generation; You established the earth, and it remains.

91
By Your ordinances they stand this day, for all things serve You.

92
If Your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.

93
I will never forget Your statutes forever, for by them You have given me life.

94
I am Yours; save me, for I seek Your statutes.

95
The wicked wait for me to destroy me, but I will give attention to Your testimonies.

96
I have seen a limit to all perfection, but Your commandment is exceedingly broad.

97
Oh, how I love Your law! I meditate on it all day long.

98

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

106
I have sworn, and I will keep it, to observe Your righteous ordinances.

May the freewill offering of praise be pleasing to You, O LORD, and teach me Your ordinances.

The wicked have laid a snare for me, but I have not strayed from Your statutes.

I am Your servant; give me understanding, that I may know Your testimonies.

It is time for the LORD to act, for they have broken Your law.

Therefore I love Your commandments more than gold, even fine gold.

Therefore I direct my way by all Your precepts; I hate every false way.

Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them.
