The fool says in his heart:
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt and vile in their deeds;
there is none who does good.

The LORD looks down from heaven
upon the children of men,
to see whether there are any who understand,
who seek after God.

They have all turned aside; they are all corrupt;
there is none who does good, no, not one.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
who eat up my people as they eat bread,
and do not call upon the LORD?

There they are in great terror,
for God is with the generation of the righteous.

You may mock the counsel of the afflicted,
but the LORD is his refuge.

Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people,
Jacob shall rejoice, Israel shall be glad.
🕊️🙏📖 Summary of Psalm 14 – “The Folly of Those Who Deny God”
Psalm 14 is a strong cry against human folly in denying the existence of God. David observes that all have gone astray; not one is righteous. Evil, injustice, and spiritual blindness abound, and those who do not fear God oppress His people.
Yet the psalm ends with hope that salvation will come out of Zion — a prophecy pointing to the restoration that comes from the Lord.
📌 1. The Folly of Denying God (verse 1)
➡️ “The fool says in his heart: ‘There is no God!’”
➡️ They are corrupt and do evil; there is none who does good.
🎯 Denying the Lord is not only an intellectual matter, but a moral choice that leads to ruin.
📌 2. The Lord Looks and Finds No One Righteous (verses 2–3)
➡️ The Lord looks down from heaven: is there anyone who understands and seeks Him?
➡️ The answer is: all have turned aside; there is not one who does good.
🎯 All people are sinful and need the grace of God — no one can justify himself.
📌 3. Evil Against the Righteous (verses 4–6)
➡️ The wicked devour the people of God as they eat bread.
➡️ They do not call upon the Lord, and they oppress the righteous.
➡️ But the Lord is on the side of the righteous.
🎯 The world may forget God, but God never forgets His people.
📌 4. Hope for Salvation from Zion (verse 7)
➡️ “Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!”
➡️ When the Lord restores His people, Israel will rejoice.
🎯 The hope for a broken world is restoration from the Lord — this is the promise of the Messiah.
