(52-2) when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul that David had come to the house of Ahimelech.
(52-3) Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man, against the one whom God loves all day long?

(52-4) You devise destruction,
your tongue is like a sharpened razor,
you worker of deceit!

(52-5) You love evil more than good,
and lying more than speaking what is right. Selah

(52-6) You love all words that devour,
you deceitful tongue!

(52-7) But God will bring you down forever;
He will seize you and pluck you from your tent,
and uproot you from the land of the living. Selah

(52-8) The righteous also shall see it and fear,
and they shall laugh at him, saying:

(52-9) “See the man who did not make God his refuge,
but trusted in the abundance of his riches,
and took refuge in his own destruction!”

(52-10) But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God;
I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever.

(52-11) I will give thanks to You forever,
because You have done it;
and I will proclaim Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your faithful ones!
🕊️🙏📖 Summary of Psalm 52 – “The Ruin of the Wicked and the Victory of the Righteous”
Psalm 52 is a psalm of David, written when Doeg the Edomite reported to Saul that David had come to the house of Ahimelech (1 Samuel 22). It is a strong rebuke of a cunning and evil man, one who trusts in riches and in a deceitful tongue.
This psalm shows that the Lord will expose evil, while the righteous will take root in the steadfast love of the Lord, like an olive tree in His house.
📌 1. Rebuke of the Wicked (verses 1–4)

➡️ Your tongue devises destruction like a sharp razor — you love lies more than truth.
