(75-2) We give thanks to You, O God; we give thanks, for Your name is near; men tell of Your wondrous works.

(75-3) “When I choose the appointed time, I myself will judge with equity.

(75-4) The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved; yet I am the one who sets up its pillars.” Selah

(75-5) I said to the boastful, “Do not boast,” and to the wicked, “Do not lift up the horn!

(75-6) Do not lift up your horn on high; do not speak with a stiff neck!”

(75-7) For not from the east or from the west, and not from the wilderness, comes lifting up,

(75-9) For a cup is in the hand of the LORD, and the wine foams; it is well mixed, and He pours out from it. Surely all the wicked of the earth shall drain it down to the dregs and drink it.

(75-11) All the horns of the wicked He will cut off, but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.

Psalm 75 is a psalm of thanksgiving and a warning about God’s justice as Judge. Written by Asaph, this psalm declares that the Lord Himself determines who is exalted and who is brought low, not man.
When the world seems in turmoil, God still holds up the pillars of the earth, and His judgment will come at the proper time.
This psalm calls us not to be proud, because the Lord holds full control over history and the fate of every person.
