(84-4) Even the sparrow has found a house, and the swallow a nest, where she may lay her young, at Your altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God!

(84-6) Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage!

(84-7) As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the early rain also covers it with blessings.

(84-11) For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Psalm 84 is a pilgrim’s song from the sons of Korah that expresses a deep longing for the Lord’s presence in the sanctuary.
This psalm affirms that one day in the Lord’s courts is better than a thousand elsewhere.
