(85-2) You have shown favor to Your land, O LORD; You have restored the fortunes of Jacob.

(85-3) You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people; You have covered all their sin. Selah

(85-4) You have withdrawn all Your wrath; You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger.

(85-5) Restore us, O God of our salvation, and put away Your displeasure toward us.

(85-6) Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger to all generations?

(85-7) Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?

(85-8) Show us Your steadfast love, O LORD, and grant us Your salvation.

(85-9) I will hear what God the LORD will speak; for He will speak peace to His people, to His beloved ones, but let them not turn again to folly.

(85-10) Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land.

(85-11) Steadfast love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.

(85-12) Faithfulness springs up from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven.

🕊️🙏📖 Summary of Psalm 85 – “A Prayer for Restoration and God’s Grace”
Psalm 85 is a national prayer for restoration, full of longing that God would revive His people.
This psalm recalls how God once forgave and restored Israel in former days, and now the people long for His grace to come again.
In the midst of decline and perhaps national suffering, the psalmist cries out:
“Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?”
