“Write to the angel of the church in Ephesus:

These are the words of Him who holds the seven stars in His right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands.

I know all your works: both your labor and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate evil people, that you have tested those who call themselves apostles, but are not, and that you have found them to be liars.

You have endured and borne up for My name’s sake, and you have not grown weary.

Nevertheless, I have this against you: you have left your first love.

Therefore remember how far you have fallen! Repent and do again the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.

But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches:

To the one who overcomes, I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.”

These are the words of the First and the Last, who died and came to life again:

I know your affliction and your poverty — yet you are rich — and the slander of those who say they are Jews, but are not; rather, they are a synagogue of Satan.

Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer! Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful even to death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches:

The one who overcomes will not be harmed by the second death.”

“And write to the angel of the church in Pergamum:

These are the words of Him who has the sharp, two-edged sword:

I know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is; and you hold fast to My name, and you did not deny your faith in Me, even in the days of Antipas, My faithful witness, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

But I have a few things against you: among you are some who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who advised Balak to lead Israel astray, so that they would eat food sacrificed to idols and commit sexual immorality.

Likewise, you also have among you those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans.

Therefore repent! If not, I will come to you soon and I will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches:

To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna; and I will grant him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, which no one knows except the one who receives it.”

“And write to the angel of the church in Thyatira:

These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like a flame of fire and whose feet are like bronze:

I know all your works: both your love and your faith, both your service and your perseverance. I know that your latter works are more than the first.

But I have this against you, that you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and to lead My servants astray, so that they commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.

And I gave her time to repent, but she is unwilling to repent of her immorality.

Behold, I will cast her onto a sickbed, and those who commit immorality with her I will cast into great distress, unless they repent of her deeds.

And I will strike her children dead, and all the churches will know that I am the One who searches minds and hearts, and that I will repay each of you according to your deeds.

But to you, the rest in Thyatira, who do not hold to that teaching and who have not learned what they call the deep things of Satan, to you I say: I do not lay on you any other burden.

Only hold fast what you have until I come.

And he who overcomes and keeps My works to the end, to him I will give authority over the nations;

and he will rule them with an iron rod; they will be broken to pieces like pottery — just as I also received from My Father —

and I will give him the morning star.

📖 Revelation 2 – Letter to the Church of God (Part 1)

✉️ Main Content: Letters to 4 Churches

Jesus delivers His message to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, and Thyatira, each according to their spiritual condition. In each letter, the pattern that appears is:

Praise – Rebuke – Warning – Promise to the one who overcomes.

1. 🏛️ Church in Ephesus (vv. 1–7) – “You have lost your first love”

✅ Praise:

• Diligent, steadfast, intolerant of evil people
• Able to discern false teachers

❌ Rebuke:

• Has left the first love

⚠️ Warning:

• If there is no repentance, the lampstand (symbol of the church) will be removed

🌟 Promise:

“To him I will give to eat from the tree of life.” (v. 7)

🧠 Reflection:
Diligence without love will become a dry routine. Love for Christ must be the main motive of ministry.

2. 💎 The Church in Smyrna (vv. 8–11) – “Remain faithful even to death”

✅ Praise:

• Poor in material things but rich in spiritual things
• Tested by suffering and slander

❌ No rebuke

⚠️ Warning:

• Will experience persecution from “the Devil” for 10 days

🌟 Promise:

“I will grant you the crown of life.” (v. 10)
“The one who overcomes will not suffer the second death.” (v. 11)

🧠 Reflection:
Suffering is not a sign of a curse, but part of victory. The Lord sees and rewards.

3. 🏛️ The Church in Pergamum (vv. 12–17) – “Rebuke false teaching”

✅ Praise:

• Steadfast in faith even while living where Satan’s throne is (a city full of idol worship)

❌ Rebuke:

• Some follow the teaching of Balaam (compromise with sin)
• They allow the teaching of the Nicolaitans (false teaching)

⚠️ Warning:

• If there is no repentance, the Lord will oppose them with “the sword from His mouth”

🌟 Promise:

“To him I will give hidden manna and a white stone with a new name.” (v. 17)

🧠 Reflection:
Spiritual compromise destroys integrity. Truth cannot be mixed with the world.

4. 🏛️ The Church in Thyatira (vv. 18–29) – “Tolerance toward a false prophet”

✅ Praise:

• Love, faith, service, perseverance – even greater than at first

❌ Rebuke:

• Allowing the woman “Jezebel” to lead the congregation astray with impurity and idolatry

⚠️ Warning:

• The Lord will judge with sickness, suffering, and death unless they repent

🌟 Promise:

“To the one who overcomes and remains faithful to the end I will grant authority over the nations.”
“I will give him the morning star.” (vv. 26–28)

🧠 Reflection:
Remarkable love and service are not enough if sin is allowed to remain. The church must guard holiness.

• Am I tolerating sin under the excuse of “love and acceptance”?
• Do I remain faithful in suffering, like the church in Smyrna?
