“And write to the angel of the church in Sardis:

These are the words of Him who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: I know your works; you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead!

Wake up, and strengthen what remains, which is about to die, for I have found no work of yours complete before My God.

Remember, therefore, how you have received and heard; keep it and repent! For if you do not watch, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come upon you.

Yet you have a few names in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; they will walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.

The one who overcomes will be clothed in white garments, and I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

These are the words of the Holy One, the True One, who has the key of David; what He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open.

I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, which no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept My word and have not denied My name.

Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie, come and bow down before your feet, and they will know that I have loved you.

Because you have kept My word about patient endurance, I also will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may take your crown.

The one who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall never go out from it; and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My new name.

These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the beginning of God’s creation:”

I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were cold or hot!

So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth.

For you say, I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing; and you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked,

therefore I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be seen; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; therefore be earnest and repent!

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me.

To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

📖 Revelation 3 – Letter to the Churches in Sardis, Philadelphia, Laodicea

1. 🏛️ Church in Sardis (vv. 1–6) – “You appear alive, but are actually dead”

✅ Praise:

• Almost none; only “a few people” who still remain faithful

❌ Rebuke:

• Have a name that they live, but are spiritually dead
• Do not complete the work that was begun

⚠️ Warning:

• If they do not keep watch, the Lord will come like a thief

🌟 Promise:

“The one who overcomes will be clothed in white garments, and his name will not be blotted out of the book of life.” (v. 5)

🧠 Reflection:
Christianity that is only outwardly visible but empty within is called dead. We are called to live authentically and fruitfully.

2. 🏛️ Church in Philadelphia (vv. 7–13) – “You are weak, but faithful”

✅ Praise:

• Hold fast to the word of God and do not deny His name
• Faithful even though “without strength” or a minority

❌ Rebuke:

• No rebuke

🌟 Promise:

• The Lord will keep them from the great trial
• Become a pillar in the Temple of God
• Will receive the Lord’s name and the new Jerusalem

🧠 Reflection:
Faithfulness is not about strength, but steady obedience. God sees faith in the midst of limitations.

3. 🏛️ The Church in Laodicea (vv. 14–22) – “You are lukewarm”

✅ Praise:

• None

❌ Rebuke:

• Neither cold nor hot – lukewarm
• Thinking themselves rich, though spiritually poor
• Blind and naked – unaware of their condition

⚠️ Warning:

• Will be spit out of the Lord’s mouth

🌟 Promise:

“Whoever overcomes, I will seat him with Me on My throne.” (v. 21)

🧠 Reflection:
A lukewarm attitude is the enemy of true faith. God calls us to repentance and personal relationship, not merely empty tradition.
