After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, that no wind should blow on the land, or on the sea, or on any tree.

And I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the seal of the living God; and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels who were given power to harm the earth and the sea,

saying, “Do not harm the land, or the sea, or the trees, until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”

And I heard the number of those who were sealed: one hundred forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the children of Israel.

Of the tribe of Judah twelve thousand were sealed,
of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand,
of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand,

of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand,

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no man could number, out of every nation and tribe and people and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and holding palm branches in their hands.

And they cried with a loud voice, saying:

“Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

And all the angels stood around the throne, and the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,

saying:

“Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever. Amen!”

And one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these who are clothed in white robes, and where did they come from?”

And I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are they who came out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will spread His tent over them.

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun strike them, nor any scorching heat.

17
For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

📖 Revelation 7 – The Sealing of God’s People and the Great Multitude in Heaven

🔑 Main Point

Revelation 7 serves as a pause between the sixth and seventh seals. Before judgment continues, God seals His servants as a sign of spiritual protection. Then John sees a great multitude from every nation saved, praising God before His throne.

1. 🌬️ The Angels Hold Back the Winds (vv. 1–3)

“Do not harm the earth, or the sea, or the trees until we have sealed the servants of God on their foreheads…”

• Four angels hold back the winds of destruction.
• Another angel brings the seal of the living God, marking divine protection.
• This shows that judgment is delayed for the sake of God’s people.

2. 🔢 The 144,000 Sealed (vv. 4–8)

“The number of those sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel…”

• Made up of 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel.
• This signifies the true people of God, both symbolically and spiritually, who are faithful to Him.
• The seal on the forehead is a sign of belonging to God, in contrast to the mark of the beast in later chapters.

3. 🌍 The Great Unnumbered Multitude (vv. 9–17)

“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no man could number… standing before the throne and the Lamb…”

• They come from every nation, tribe, people, and tongue.
• They wear white robes and hold palm branches — symbols of victory and salvation.
• They are those who:

• • “came out of the great tribulation”

  • “washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb”

• They serve day and night in God’s temple and will no longer hunger, thirst, or suffer the sun’s heat.
• The Lamb becomes their Shepherd and leads them to springs of living water.
