We often feel that our faith is too small to change anything. Too weak to fight worries. Too fragile to face life’s storms. Yet, did you know that no matter how small faith is, if placed in the great God, it can move mountains?
Jesus said, “For truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)
The mustard seed is a very small seed, almost invisible in the palm of your hand. But Jesus deliberately used that analogy to express an important truth: it’s not how big your faith is, but how big the God you trust is.
In real life, we can’t always have great faith all the time. There are times when we can only pray with a weak voice, “Lord, help me.” There are moments when our faith is not a confident shout, but a whisper full of tears. Yet, God does not despise small faith. In fact, He values it, as long as that faith is placed in Him.
Just look at the story of the woman who had been bleeding for twelve years (Mark 5:25-34). She did not come with great faith. She did not make an extraordinary declaration. She only thought in her heart, “If I just touch His cloak, I will be healed.” And God restored her. Her faith was small, but the God she touched was very great.
True faith is not about never being afraid, but about choosing to believe even in the midst of fear. Even when the heart is full of doubt, if we still come to God and surrender, that is already a precious step of faith.
God is not looking for people who are always strong, but those who still come to Him even when weak. He does not wait until our faith is perfect. He waits for a heart willing to believe even a little, because He knows that in His hands, even a little can become extraordinary.
Today, do not underestimate your faith just because it feels small. The God you trust is far greater than anything you face. Dare to entrust your life to Him, even if your steps tremble. Because what matters is not how strong your feet are, but whom you step toward.
