Unlike ordinary songs, spiritual songs carry a spiritual message. They not only entertain but also speak directly to the heart. Songs like “I Cry Out” or “For God Nothing is Impossible” often touch the deepest parts that cannot be explained by logic.
Ephesians 5:19 says, “…speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs…” — meaning, praise is indeed intended to be a spiritual language that strengthens one another, not just ear entertainment.

Crying is not a sign of weakness, but a natural reaction when our hearts are touched by deep truth. Spiritual songs often voice God’s promises, hope, and even forgiveness, and when these resonate with moments in our lives, our souls respond with tears.
Psalm 126:5 says, “Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.” Sometimes those tears are the seeds of our personal encounter with God, working within our hearts.

When the lyrics say, “You lift me up when I fall and am powerless,” suddenly we remember difficult times, and realize how far God has helped us. At that moment, tears are not weakness but a sign of deep gratitude and awareness.
4. The Holy Spirit Can Touch Through Music
In John 16:13, Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. And often, the Holy Spirit uses songs as a tool to gently touch, comfort, or correct us. Tears can be evidence that God is working to heal, renew, or strengthen our souls through that praise.
