I lifted up my eyes again, and I saw: behold, four chariots were coming out from between two mountains. And the mountains were mountains of bronze.

The first chariot was drawn by red horses, the second chariot by black horses.

The third chariot by white horses, and the fourth chariot by dappled horses, strong and spotted.

Then I spoke to the angel who was speaking with me, “What is the meaning of these, my lord?”

The angel answered and said to me, “These are going out toward the four winds of heaven, after presenting themselves before the Lord of all the earth.

The one with the black horses goes out toward the land of the north; the white ones go out toward the west; the dappled ones go out toward the land of the south;

and the red ones go out, eager to go, to patrol the earth. Then he said, ‘Go, patrol the earth!’ So they patrolled the earth.

Then he called out to me, “See, those who go out toward the land of the north have set my Spirit at rest in the land of the north.”

The word of the LORD came to me, saying:

“Take from the exiles, from Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah, who have come from Babylon, and go the same day to the house of Josiah son of Zephaniah.

Take silver and gold, make a crown, and set it on the head of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest.
12
Say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts: Behold, the man whose name is the Branch. He shall branch out from his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD.
13
It is he who shall build the temple of the LORD, and he shall bear majesty and shall sit and rule on his throne. And there shall be a priest on his right hand, and a counsel of peace shall be between them both.
14
The crown shall remain in the temple of the LORD as a memorial to Heldai, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and to Josiah son of Zephaniah.
15
Those who are far away shall come and help build the temple of the LORD; and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. And this shall come to pass, if you will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.’”
