So all the work that Solomon did for the house of the LORD was finished. Then Solomon brought in the holy things of David his father, and put the silver, the gold, and all the vessels into the treasuries of the house of God.

At that time Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers’ houses of the children of Israel, in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

And all the men of Israel gathered before the king at the feast in the seventh month.

When all the elders of Israel had come, the Levites took up the ark.

They brought up the ark, the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the tent; these the priests and the Levites brought up.

King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who had assembled before him were before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted or numbered for multitude.

Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place, into the inner room of the house, into the Most Holy Place, under the wings of the cherubim;

for the cherubim spread out their wings over the place of the ark, so that the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above.

The poles were so long that the ends of the poles could be seen from the holy place in front of the inner room, but they could not be seen from outside; and there they are to this day.
10
There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets that Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.

Then the priests came out of the holy place. All the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, regardless of their divisions.

Also all the Levite singers were present: Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and their brothers. They stood at the east side of the altar, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps, and lyres, together with one hundred and twenty priests sounding trumpets.

It came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and giving thanks to the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets, cymbals, and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying: “For He is good, for His mercy endures forever,” that the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud,

so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.
