In spiritual life, many people enjoy seeing growth, deepening in the Word, serving actively, or becoming more diligent in prayer. However, true spiritual growth must produce fruit, not just signs of growth. Jesus said in John 15:8, โBy this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.โ
Growth that does not produce fruit is like a leafy tree without fruit: beautiful to look at, but of no benefit. Spiritual fruit is clear evidence that Godโs Word is at work in our lives, seen in love, patience, forgiveness, and a life testimony.
Sometimes, we feel it is enough just to attend worship services or memorize verses. Yet, the Lord desires our lives to become a real channel of blessing for others. Growth without fruit can trap us in self-satisfaction, while growth that produces fruit will glorify God and bless others.
To become a fruitful person means allowing the Holy Spirit to work in shaping character, changing priorities, and leading us to do deeds that align with Godโs will. That fruit does not come from human effort alone, but from a relationship that remains closely attached to Jesus.
Today, let us reflect: is our life only growing in knowledge, or also bearing fruit in action? God calls us not only to be trees that grow tall, but trees that feed, strengthen, and give life to others.
Father, teach me not to be satisfied with growth alone, but also to bear fruit. Shape my life so that it becomes a blessing and glorifies Your name.
