This question has long intrigued many Christians. Is it possible for humans to talk with angels? If so, when and how? Is it a genuine spiritual experience or just a feeling? To find the answer, let’s explore what the Bible says and how we should respond to it.
Angels in the Bible, their appearances are not random
In many Bible stories, angels indeed appear to humans to deliver messages from God. For example, when Mary was told about the birth of Jesus (Luke 1:26-38), or when Joseph was warned in a dream to flee to Egypt (Matthew 2:13). But it should be noted, such events do not happen every day. There is always an important purpose that God intends.
Does such communication still happen today?
It can happen, but it is not common. In Hebrews 1:14, angels are described as ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation. This means they are still active. But don’t be quick to believe if you hear strange voices or see unusual appearances. 2 Corinthians 11:14 says that Satan can also disguise himself as an angel of light. Therefore, it is very important to be cautious and remain grounded in the truth of the Bible.
Not something to seek after
Angels are indeed amazing, but they are not the main focus in the Christian faith. God is the center. Communication with angels is not something that can be “called upon” or made into a spiritual routine. If God wills to use angels, there will surely be a great purpose behind it.
Paul also reminds us in Galatians 1:8 that even if an angel preaches a different gospel, we must reject it. This means all supernatural things must be tested and not accepted blindly.
The most important thing: knowing God’s voice
Rather than being busy seeking spiritual experiences, it is better to focus on building a personal relationship with God. We have God’s Word which is clear and complete. If God wants to convey something, He can use many ways, and the primary way is through His Word.
So, communication with angels? It can happen, but there is no need to seek it out. Just live close to God, recognize His voice, and let Him lead in His own way. Even if angels come, you will not be confused because your heart is sensitive to the truth.
