Have you ever felt as if life were going down the wrong path? Maybe you are in a place you never planned to be, facing a confusing situation, or carrying a burden that feels like it was never meant for you. In moments like that, it is easy for thoughts to arise, “Lord, why is this happening to me? Did You send this into my life by mistake?”
But this one truth can calm the heart: God never sends us to the wrong place. Whatever He allows to happen in our lives is never a mistake. He never thinks, “Oops, that wasn’t meant for him.” On the contrary, every process, challenge, and blessing has already been measured exactly according to His design.
In Jeremiah 29:11, God says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This is not a promise of a life without obstacles, but a promise that everything, even what we do not understand, is under His control.
Think of Joseph, sold by his brothers, falsely accused, and thrown into prison (Genesis 37–50). From the outside, his life looked like an unfair tragedy. But Joseph himself later said to his brothers: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good…” (Genesis 50:20). God knew exactly where He had placed Joseph, and nothing was sent to the wrong place.
What you are going through right now, whether a heavy assignment, a difficult season, or a lonely road, is not a mistake. It is part of the process of refining and shaping. It may not be comfortable, but God knows exactly why you were chosen to walk through it. He does not entrust the path of life to His children carelessly.
And remember, even blessings are never sent to the wrong address. Sometimes we see others being blessed and ask, “Why not me?” But God’s timing is always right, and when the time comes, no blessing will be delivered to the wrong person.
Lord, thank You because You never place me in the wrong place. Help me believe that everything You allow in my life is part of Your perfect plan. When I do not understand, strengthen me to keep obeying and hoping. Amen.
