who created you, O Jacob,
who formed you, O Israel:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
you are Mine.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you,
or through the rivers, they shall not sweep over you;
when you walk through fire, you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.

For I am the LORD your God,
the Holy One, the God of Israel, your Savior.
I give Egypt as your ransom,
and Ethiopia and Seba in your place.

Because you are precious in My sight
and honored, and I love you,
I give men in your place,
and peoples in exchange for your life.

Do not fear, for I am with you;
I will bring your offspring from the east,
and I will gather you from the west.

I will say to the north, Give them up!
and to the south, Do not hold them back!
Bring My sons from far away,
and My daughters from the ends of the earth,

Bring out the people who are blind, though they have eyes,
and the deaf, though they have ears!

Let all the nations gather together,
and let the peoples assemble!
Who among them can declare these things,
who can tell us former things?
Let them bring forward their witnesses, that they may be proved right;
let people hear and say, “It is true!”

“You are My witnesses,” says the LORD,
“and My servant whom I have chosen,
so that you may know and believe Me
and understand that I am He.
Before Me no god was formed,
and after Me there will be none.

I, I am the LORD,
and besides Me there is no savior.

I have declared, and saved, and proclaimed,
and not some foreign god among you.
You are My witnesses,” says the LORD,
“and I am God.

Yes, from this day onward I am He,
and there is none who can deliver from My hand;
I work, and who can turn it back?”

“For your sake I will send to Babylon,

The wild animals will honor Me,

to give drink to My chosen people;

the people whom I formed for Myself

“Yet you did not call upon Me, O Jacob;
and you were not wearied for My sake, O Israel.

You did not bring Me the sheep of your burnt offerings,
and you did not honor Me with your sacrifices.
I did not burden you with the demand for grain offerings,
or weary you with the demand for frankincense.
24
You did not buy sweet cane for Me with money,
or satisfy Me with the fat of your sacrifices.
But you burdened Me with your sins;
you wearied Me with your iniquities.
25
I, I am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake,
and I will not remember your sins.
26
Put Me in remembrance; let us contend together;
set forth your case, that you may be proved right!
27
Your first father sinned,
and your spokesmen have rebelled against Me.
28
So I profaned the princes of the sanctuary,
and I gave Jacob over to destruction
