I will make an everlasting covenant with you,

Indeed, I have appointed him as a witness to the nations,
as a ruler and commander over the peoples;

and a nation that does not know you will run to you,
because of the LORD your God,
and because of the Holy One of Israel, who has glorified you.

Seek the LORD while He may be found;
call on Him while He is near!

Let the wicked forsake his way,
and the evil person his plans;
let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him,
and to our God, for He abundantly pardons.

For My plans are not your plans,
and your ways are not My ways,
declares the LORD.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are My ways higher than your ways
and My plans than your plans.

For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
and do not return there, but water the earth,
making it fruitful and causing it to sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

so shall My word that goes out from My mouth be:
it will not return to Me empty,
but it will accomplish what I desire,
and succeed in the purpose for which I sent it.

Surely you will go out with joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and the hills will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

Instead of the thornbush, the cypress will grow,
and instead of the brier, the myrtle will grow;
and it will be for the LORD’s renown,
as an everlasting sign that will not be cut off.
