“Surely, because of this my heart trembles and leaps from its place.

Listen, listen to the roar of His voice, the thunder that comes from His mouth.

He sends it forth under the whole heaven, and His lightning to the ends of the earth.

Then His voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice; He does not restrain the lightning when His voice is heard.

God thunders with His wondrous voice; He does great things beyond our understanding;

for to the snow He says, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the heavy rain and the downpour: ‘Be strong!’

He seals up the hand of every man, so that all people may know His work.

Then the wild animals go into their lairs and remain in their dens.

The storm comes out from its chamber, and cold from the north.

By the breath of God ice is formed, and the broad waters freeze.

He loads the clouds with moisture, and the clouds scatter His lightning,

then it flashes about in every direction by His guidance, to do whatever He commands on the face of the earth.

He makes it reach its purpose, whether for correction for His land or for mercy.
14
Give ear to this, O Job; stand still, and consider the wonders of God.
15
Do you know how God appoints them, and causes the light of His cloud to shine?
16
Do you know about the drifting of the clouds, about the wonders of the One who is perfect in knowledge,
17
you whose garments become hot, when the earth is still because of the south wind’s heat?
18
Can you, like Him, spread out the clouds as a canopy, hard as a cast mirror?
19
Tell us what we should say to Him; we cannot present our case because of darkness.
20
Should it be told to Him that I would speak? Has anyone ever said that he wished to be destroyed?
21
Now the light is not seen, because it is darkened by the clouds; then the wind blows, and the sky clears.
22
Out of the north comes golden brightness; God is clothed with awesome majesty.
23
The Almighty, whom we cannot understand, is great in power and justice; though abundant in righteousness, He does not oppress.
24
Therefore people fear Him; He does not regard any who think themselves wise.”

In Job 37, Elihu ends his speech in awe of the majesty of God revealed in the power of nature.
He points to the storm, thunder, snow, and rain as signs of the Lord’s stirring presence and power.
With reverence, Elihu calls Job and all listeners to be still and marvel at God’s greatness — not to question or direct Him.
This chapter becomes a transition toward God’s direct appearance in the following chapters.

“Be still and consider the wonders of God!”
➡️ Can human beings understand:
- How God arranges the clouds?
- How the light of lightning spreads?
➡️ Elihu asks:
“Can you command the clouds to come, or speak as God does?”
🎯 Silence is the highest form of reverence before the great mystery of God.
📌 4. Conclusion: God Is Great, Unfathomable, Yet Just (verses 21–24)
➡️ Though the sun shines, clouds cover it — so it is with God: bright yet hidden
➡️ God is great in power, does not hate humanity, yet cannot be approached carelessly
