I said: Hear now, O heads of Jacob,
and rulers of the house of Israel!
Should you not know justice,

you who hate good and love evil?
They tear the skin from my people
and the flesh from their bones;
3
they eat the flesh of my people,
and strip the skin from them;
they break their bones in pieces,
and chop them up as meat in a pot,
as flesh within a caldron.

Then they will cry to the LORD,
but he will not answer them;
he will hide his face from them at that time,
because their deeds are evil.

Thus says the LORD concerning the prophets
who lead my people astray,
who, when they have something to bite with their teeth,
proclaim peace,
but against the one who puts nothing into their mouths
they declare war.

Therefore it shall be night to you, without vision,
and darkness to you, without divination.
The sun shall go down on the prophets,
and the day shall be dark over them.
7
The seers shall be put to shame,
and the diviners shall be confounded;
they shall all cover their lips,
for there is no answer from God.

But as for me, I am filled with power,
with the Spirit of the LORD, with justice and might,
to declare to Jacob his transgression
and to Israel his sin.
9
Hear this now, O heads of the house of Jacob,
and rulers of the house of Israel,
you who abhor justice
and pervert all that is straight,
10
you who build Zion with blood
and Jerusalem with wrongdoing!

Its heads judge for a bribe,
and its priests teach for a price,
and its prophets divine for money;
yet they lean on the LORD and say,
“Is not the LORD in the midst of us?
No disaster shall come upon us.”

Therefore because of you
Zion shall be plowed as a field,
and Jerusalem shall become a heap of ruins,
and the mountain of the house shall become a wooded hill.

Micah 3 is a strong rebuke of the nation’s leaders: judges, officials, and false prophets who abuse power for personal gain. God condemns them for treating the people harshly and twisting justice. As a result, Jerusalem will become ruins. Yet beneath the rebuke, this chapter still points to the truth that justice and righteousness are at the heart of God’s will.
📌 1. Leaders Who Hate Justice (verses 1–4)
“Should you not know what is just?”
- Micah rebukes the leaders who ought to uphold the law, but instead love evil
- They are described as spiritual cannibals, who “skin, break bones, and eat” the people
- When they cry out to the Lord, He will not answer them
🎯 Leaders who oppress the people will be ignored by God — power is not a shield from judgment.

- False prophets teach for payment, bless those who pay them, and threaten those who do not give

No more visions
