Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His face continually!

Remember the wondrous works that He has done, His miracles and the judgments He has spoken,

you descendants of Abraham, His servant, you children of Jacob, His chosen ones!

He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth.

He remembers His covenant forever, the word He commanded for a thousand generations,

the covenant He made with Abraham, and His oath to Isaac;

He confirmed it as a statute for Jacob, as an everlasting covenant for Israel,

saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance.”

When they were few in number, very few indeed, and strangers there,

wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people,

When He called for famine upon the land and destroyed all the supply of bread,

He sent a man ahead of them: Joseph, who was sold as a slave.

They bound his feet with shackles; his neck was put in irons,

until the time that His word came to pass, and the word of the LORD proved him true.

The king sent and released him; the ruler of peoples set him free.

He made him lord of his house and ruler over all his possessions,

to instruct his princes as he pleased and to teach wisdom to his elders.

Then Israel came to Egypt, and Jacob lived as a stranger in the land of Ham.

The LORD made His people very fruitful and made them stronger than their adversaries;

He turned their hearts to hate His people, to deal deceitfully with His servants.

He sent Moses, His servant, and Aaron, whom He had chosen;

they performed His signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham:

He sent darkness, and it became dark; yet they rebelled against His word;

He turned their waters into blood and killed their fish.

Frogs swarmed in their land, even in the chambers of their kings;

He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats throughout all their territory;

He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land;
33
He struck down their vines and their fig trees, and broke down the trees in their territory;

He spoke, and locusts came, and grasshoppers without number,

which devoured all the plants in their land, and ate the fruit of their ground;

He struck down all the firstborn in their land, the first of all their strength.

He brought them out with silver and gold, and among their tribes there was none who stumbled.

Egypt was glad when they departed, for dread of them had fallen upon the Egyptians.

He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light by night.

They asked, and He brought quail, and satisfied them with bread from heaven.

He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed through the dry places like a river;

for He remembered His holy word, to Abraham His servant.

He brought out His people with joy, His chosen ones with singing.

He gave them the lands of the nations, and they took possession of the labor of the peoples,

Psalm 105 is a psalm of history, calling the people to give thanks and praise the Lord for His work in the history of Israel.
From the covenant with Abraham to the deliverance from Egypt, the psalmist bears witness to the Lord’s unfailing faithfulness from generation to generation.
This is a psalm for remembering — and for shaping faith from history.
📌 1. An Invitation to Praise and Remember the Lord (verses 1–6)

🎯 The purpose of deliverance is that the people may live according to His word and praise His name.
