Blessed are those who keep justice, who do righteousness at all times!

Remember me, O LORD, according to Your favor toward Your people; visit me with Your salvation,
5
that I may see the prosperity of Your chosen ones, that I may rejoice in the joy of Your people, and that I may glory with Your own inheritance.
6
We and our fathers have sinned; we have done wrong, we have acted wickedly.
7
Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wondrous works; they did not remember the greatness of Your steadfast love, but rebelled against the Most High by the Red Sea.
8
Yet He saved them for His name’s sake, to make His mighty power known.
9
He rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up; He led them through the depths as through a wilderness.

So He saved them from the hand of those who hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy;

the waters covered their adversaries; not one of them remained.

Then they believed His words; they sang His praise.

But they soon forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel.

They gave way to craving in the wilderness, and tested God in the desert.

He gave them what they asked for, but sent a wasting disease among them.

They were jealous of Moses in the camp, and of Aaron, the holy one of the LORD.

The earth opened and swallowed Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.
18
A fire blazed among them; the flame burned up those wicked men.
19
They made a calf at Horeb, and bowed down to a cast image;
20
they exchanged their Glory for the image of an ox that eats grass.
21
They forgot God, who had saved them, who had done great things in Egypt:
22
wondrous works in the land of Ham, awesome deeds by the Red Sea.
23
So He said He would destroy them, had not Moses, His chosen one, stood before Him in the breach, to turn away His wrath, so that He would not destroy them.
24
They despised the pleasant land; they did not believe His word.
25
They grumbled in their tents and did not listen to the voice of the LORD.
26
Then He raised His hand against them, to bring them down in the wilderness,
27
and to scatter their offspring among the nations, and disperse them through the lands.
28
They joined themselves to Baal of Peor, and ate sacrifices offered to the dead.
29
They provoked Him to anger by their deeds, and a plague broke out among them.
30
Then Phinehas stood up and executed judgment, and the plague was stopped.
31
That was counted to him as righteousness for all generations, forever.
32
They angered Him at the waters of Meribah, so that trouble came to Moses because of them;
33
for they embittered his spirit, and he spoke rashly with his lips.
34
They did not destroy the peoples, as the LORD had commanded them,
35
but they mingled with the nations and learned their ways.
36
They served their idols, which became a snare to them.
37
They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to evil spirits,
38
and shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; and the land was defiled by bloodshed.
39
They defiled themselves by what they did, and played the harlot in their deeds.
40
So the anger of the LORD burned against His people, and He abhorred His own inheritance.
41
He gave them into the hand of the nations, and those who hated them ruled over them.
42
Their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their power.
43
Many times He delivered them, but they were rebellious in their plans, and sank down in their iniquity.
44
Yet He looked upon their distress, when He heard their cry.
45
He remembered His covenant for their sake, and relented according to His great lovingkindness.
46
He caused them to find compassion before all who held them captive.
47
Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to Your holy name, and glory in Your praise.
48
Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting; and let all the people say, “Amen!”

🕊️🙏📖 Summary of Psalm 106 – “The Sin of the People and God’s Unending Faithfulness”
Psalm 106 is a psalm of repentance and confession of sin, retelling the history of Israel — not from the side of miracles like Psalm 105, but from the side of the people’s unfaithfulness and rebellion.
Yet, in all of this, God’s steadfast love remains evident. This psalm is a great lesson about God’s unshakable mercy, even amid repeated human failure.
📌 1. A Cry of Thanksgiving and a Plea for Grace (verses 1–5)
➡️ “Praise the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!”
➡️ The psalmist confesses: “We have done evil.”
➡️ He asks that God remember him in His love and salvation.

📌 3. Unfaithfulness in the Promised Land (verses 34–39)
➡️ They did not destroy the nations as commanded, but instead imitated their customs and idols.
➡️ They even offered their children to evil spirits.
🎯 Disobedience brought moral and spiritual ruin — deeply wounding their relationship with God.
📌 4. God’s Judgment and Mercy (verses 40–46)
➡️ The LORD was angry and gave them into the hands of foreign nations.
➡️ Yet, whenever they cried out, the LORD heard and had compassion on them.
➡️ “He remembered His covenant… and relented because of His steadfast love.”
🎯 God’s love is stronger than His anger.
