He does not delight in the strength of the horse; he takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.

The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.

Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion!

For he strengthens the bars of your gates; he blesses your children within you.

He makes peace in your borders; he fills you with the finest of the wheat.

He sends out his command to the earth; his word runs very swiftly.

Psalm 147 is part of the closing song of praise (Psalms 146–150), highlighting the goodness and greatness of God in rebuilding his people, caring for creation, and making known his word.
This praise calls the people to give thanks for Jerusalem’s restoration, God’s love for the broken, and his sovereignty over all creation.
