set me on high against those who rise up against me.

drive them here and there by Your power,

let them be caught in their pride.
Because of the curses and lies they speak,

if they are not satisfied, then they growl.

in the morning I will sing aloud of Your steadfast love.

Psalm 59 was written by David when Saul sent men to surround his house and kill him (1 Samuel 19:11–17). In a dangerous situation, surrounded by enemies, David did not panic — he cried out to the Lord as his refuge and strength.
This psalm is a psalm of confidence in the midst of threat, reflecting complete trust in God even though enemies surround and intend destruction.
📌 1. Cry for Protection (verses 1–2)

➡️ David cries out to be delivered from murderers, the wicked, and bloodthirsty men.
