(77-2) I will cry aloud to God, aloud to God, that He may hear me.

(77-3) In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; in the night my hands were stretched out and did not grow weary; my soul refused to be comforted.

Psalm 77 is a personal cry from one who is anxious and oppressed, written by Asaph. The psalmist lays bare his struggle through sleepless nights, when he feels that God is far away. Yet the turning point comes when he remembers God’s great deeds in the past, especially the deliverance from Egypt.
This psalm is a spiritual journey from despair to hope, from feeling abandoned to trusting that God remains faithful and mighty.
📌 1. Lament in a Restless Night (verses 1–4)
