(9-2) I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart,
I will tell of all Your wondrous deeds;

(9-3) I will be glad and rejoice in You,
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High,

(9-4) For my enemies turn back,
they stumble and fall and perish before You.

(9-5) For You have upheld my cause and my right;
as a righteous Judge You sit on the throne.

(9-6) You have rebuked the nations,
You have destroyed the wicked;
their name You have blotted out
forever and ever;

(9-7) The enemy has come to an end, laid waste forever;
You have overthrown cities;
their memory has perished.

(9-8) But the LORD abides forever;
He has established His throne for judgment.

(9-9) He judges the world with righteousness
and gives judgment to the nations with equity.

(9-10) The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of trouble.

(9-11) Those who know Your name trust in You,
for You have not forsaken those who seek You, O LORD.

(9-12) Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion;
declare His deeds among the nations,

(9-13) For He who avenges blood remembers the afflicted;
He does not forget their cry.

(9-14) Be gracious to me, O LORD;
see my affliction from those who hate me,
You who lift me up from the gates of death,

(9-15) That I may tell of all Your praiseworthy deeds
and rejoice at the gates of the daughter of Zion
because of Your salvation.

(9-16) The nations have sunk into the pit they made;
their own foot is caught in the net they hid.

(9-17) The LORD has made Himself known; He has executed judgment;
the wicked are ensnared in the work of their own hands. Higayon. Selah

(9-18) The wicked shall return to Sheol,
yes, all the nations that forget God.

(9-19) For the needy shall not always be forgotten,
nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever.

(9-20) Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail;
let the nations be judged before You!

🕊️🙏📖 Summary of Psalm 9 – “The Lord Defends the Oppressed and Judges Wicked Nations”
Psalm 9 is David’s praise and confession to God as a righteous Judge. David praises God for victory over enemies, then declares his confidence that God is a refuge for the oppressed. He also emphasizes that nations who forget God will perish, while the poor and weak will not be forgotten.
