One of the most difficult things for humans is waiting. We live in a fast-paced world where we want everything to happen immediately. However, the Bible teaches that God’s timing is different from ours, and His timing is always perfect.
In Ecclesiastes 3:11 it is written, โHe has made everything beautiful in its timeโฆโ This verse is not just poetic words, but a sure promise. God is never late, never rushed, and never wrong in arranging the timing.
Look at the life of Abraham. God promised that he would be the father of many nations, but he had to wait decades until Isaac was born (Genesis 21:2). From a human perspective, the promise felt too long. However, God’s promise was fulfilled at the right time, when everything was according to His plan.
Jesus also set an example. When Lazarus was sick, He did not come immediately but waited until Lazarus had been dead for four days (John 11:6, 17). For Lazarus’s family, Jesus seemed late. However, through that event, the miracle of resurrection occurred.
Sometimes God delays not because He doesn’t care, but because He is preparing something greater.
We often become restless when prayers remain unanswered. We feel abandoned or forgotten. However, the truth is God is always working behind the scenes, even when we do not see it. He knows what is best, when is best, and how is best to answer our prayers.
Psalm 37:7 reminds us, โBe still before the LORD and wait patiently for himโฆโ Waiting does not mean being passive, but rather a heart attitude full of trust. True faith is tested not only in prayer but in the patience of awaiting God’s answer.
So, when your time feels slow, remember that God is arranging something beautiful. Believe that God’s timing is always better than our own plans.
Lord, teach me to patiently wait for Your timing. Help me not to rush with my own way, but to learn to trust that You always know what is best. Thank You because Your timing is perfect and full of love. Amen.
