In the midst of a life full of pressure and busyness, we often feel tired of doing good. Sometimes we think, “What’s the point of helping if no one appreciates it?” or “Why should I be patient if others keep hurting me?” But God’s word clearly says in Galatians 6:9, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Goodness is not something meaningless before God. Although people may not always appreciate or repay, God never turns a blind eye to every good deed we do. Even the smallest things we do in love can become seeds that one day yield a harvest.
Jesus Himself set an example. He healed, taught, and served with full love, even though He was often misunderstood, rejected, and even betrayed.
He does not stop doing good even though people do not always respond correctly. That is why we are also called to remain faithful in doing it, not based on human reactions, but because our hearts want to obey God.
Hebrews 6:10 affirms, “For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love you have shown for his name…” This means that no good deed escapes God’s attention. Even when we feel no one is watching, God sees and values it.
Sometimes the results of doing good are not immediately visible. There are times when we feel at a loss or disappointed. But that is precisely where our test of faithfulness lies. Every good deed is an eternal investment, not just a momentary action. And God’s word promises that we will reap in due time if we do not give up.
So, when you feel weary or want to stop doing good, remember: your goodness is not only for people, but for God. Keep sowing in love, because the time to reap will come, and the fruit will be more beautiful than you imagine.
Lord, strengthen me so that I do not grow tired of doing good.
Teach me to see every good deed as an opportunity to glorify You, not to seek reward from people. Use my life to remain a channel of Your love wherever I am. Amen.
