There are moments in life when we feel there is no way out anymore. Every door is closed, every effort fails, and all we can say is, “I’ve given everything I have.” This situation reminds us of the story of the Israelites trapped before the Red Sea. In front of them was a vast sea, and behind them was Pharaoh’s army ready to kill them. From a human point of view, it was a dead end. But God showed His power in a way no one had ever imagined: the sea split into a dry path.
Exodus 14:21 records, “Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the people of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.”
Notice that God did not lift them through the air or suddenly make a boat appear. God made a way in the middle of the impossible. This shows that God does not only remove problems, but also turns problems into a way out.
What can we learn from this event?
- Great problems can become the backdrop for great miracles. Without the sea blocking the way, the Israelites would never have seen the sea split. Sometimes, it is precisely at a dead end that we see God’s wonder.
- God works in His own way. The Israelites may have hoped for a boat or a bridge, but God gave an unexpected solution. When we are limited, God’s power has no limits.
- Faith is stepping onto the path God opens. After the sea split, the Israelites still had to walk through the seabed. Believing is not only waiting for a miracle, but also daring to move when the way is opened.
Maybe right now you are facing a situation where everything seems closed: financial problems, family issues, health, or ministry. Remember, the same God who opened a way at the Red Sea is still able to open a way in your life. When there is no way, He can create a new way.
Isaiah 43:16 says, “Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea, a path in the mighty waters.” Our God is the same God yesterday, today, and forever.
Lord, I believe You are the God who can open a way when I cannot see one. Help me not to fear my circumstances, but to trust that You are able to do the impossible. Let me hold on to You and walk in the path You have opened. Amen.
