There are seasons when we feel stuck “in between.” Prayers have been offered, steps have been taken, yet the results are not yet visible. The good news: God is not absent in the process; He works even when we do not see it. Paul affirms, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion” (Philippians 1:6). The process may seem slow in our eyes, but God is never late in His plan. “He has made everything beautiful in its time” (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
When the road feels long, the Word reminds us that His presence does not change. “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me” (Psalm 23:4). “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you” (Isaiah 43:2). God may not immediately lift the situation, but He lifts you to endure and grow within it. James mentions the purpose of this process: “The testing of your faith produces perseverance… so that you may be mature and complete” (James 1:2-4).
Process is not merely waiting for results, but character formation that makes us resemble Christ.
Sometimes we interpret silence as rejection. Yet the Bible says, “God works all things together for good to those who love Him” (Romans 8:28). The good referred to is not always quick and comfortable, but aligns with His eternal purpose. In the midst of the process, the Holy Spirit becomes the Helper: “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). This is the anchor of the heart: His presence is more certain than our feelings.
How do we walk with God when the process feels slow and the results are not yet visible?
- Set your focus on the Person, not on the outcome. Begin the day with a simple prayer: “Father, I love You.” Read a passage of Scripture and hold on to one promise, for example Philippians 1:6. When the focus is right, the steps become right.
- Do a small, clear act of obedience today. “Your word is a lamp to my feet” (Psalm 119:105). A lamp lights one step, not the entire map. Small obedience opens the next door.
- Let peace be your inner referee. “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts” (Colossians 3:15). If peace leads, continue. If the heart is moved by pride, stop and correct your direction.
- Build perseverance with a simple rhythm. Short prayers, brief devotionals, small acts of kindness every day. “Those who sow with tears will reap with joyful shouting” (Psalm 126:5).
- Walking together with the body of Christ. “Bear one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2). Ask for prayer, accept biblical counsel, and remain open to refining correction.
Perseverance prepares a harvest that does not quickly run out.
Is it possible that what God works on first is not your circumstances, but yourself? Paul wrote, “Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day” (2 Corinthians 4:16). A long process often becomes a space where the roots of faith are deepened, motivation is purified, and life direction is straightened. In the end, we not only receive answers but become individuals ready to manage them.
So, if today you are in the corridor of waiting, do not give up. God is always in the midst of the process. He arranges people, time, and doors. When His time comes, you will see how every small step of your obedience is used to weave something beautiful. Until that day, walk in peace: He holds your hand.
Father, strengthen us in the midst of the process.
Keep our hearts steadfastly attached to You, teach us to be faithful in small steps, and fill us with Your peace as we wait for Your timing. Renew our inner being, so that when the door opens we are ready to glorify Your name. Amen.
